Our Story
Mer & Dic Panacea Cream is a nourishing massage cream developed by our father, Attorney Rahim Yıldız, who suffered from back problems in 1991, as a self-treatment after being diagnosed with a herniated disc in 1993. Its formula is his own and has been spread by word of mouth for 32 years thanks to its success.
Mer & Dic Pan Cream is a skin care cream that was produced by our father in 1994 as a second cream for wrinkles around the eyes and as a daily moisturizer for the face.
Our father was a lawyer by profession, and after he recovered in 1993, he named the creams he produced after the first three letters of the names of his daughters, Meriç and Dicle, under the brand name Mer & Dic.
It introduced and helped everyone as Pan (1994) and Panacea cream, and upon the rapid increase in customer satisfaction, it started production and sales.
He used to say that he had never found more joy in his life than in this work. And he was happiest with you.

The Mer & Dic brand began in 1991 when our father, Attorney Rahim Yıldız, experienced back pain and sharp pain in his right leg. After consulting 15 doctors until 1993, he received various diagnoses regarding his back pain. Undeterred, he began researching and developing a cream for himself in 1993 to find a solution. Our father, a lawyer at the time, began feeling better within a few months of using the creams he created, and began promoting the cream, sharing his experience with those around him.
"I'm not a doctor, I'm a lawyer. My back pain was unbearable, and in desperation, I decided to create my own cream. The cream I made was good for me, and it will be good for you too," he said, and distributed gifts for two years. Because of the rapid and positive feedback from users, he hoped to reach even more people by naming his cream after himself. The first brand name that came to his mind was Mer & Dic Cream, combining the first three letters of his daughters Meriç and Dicle's names. He printed orange Mer & Dic on blue labels, made his products available to his close circle, and made a heartfelt effort to distribute them, delivering personalized presentations to those he saw in Türkiye, and writing letters to many people in need throughout the year. From presidents and prime ministers to football players, to some of the citizens he saw in the newspaper, to artists, actors, and writers... The letters are a keepsake for us, and our customers are welcome to read them in our store.
Our cream began spreading rapidly by word of mouth in the late 1990s, and satisfied customers' recommendations of Mer & Dic cream led to recommendations. Our father's diligence, knowledge, and compassion quickly became widely known, and he became known as the Lawyer's Cream. Our father left his legal practice in the early 2000s and worked for Mer & Dic cream and you until his death in 2014.
Coincidentally, our mother developed a herniated disc in the late 1990s. After applying the cream, our father suggested she take a light walk. Our father would apply the cream to our mother's back every night and help her with her afternoon walks. As the days passed, our mother, who had previously had no interest in sports, was already feeling better and knew she was about to achieve a great success. What began as a difficult 60-meter walk, she transformed into a marathon journey that stretched to 42,195 meters as she recovered. She had found her ikigai, and the same excitement still lingers in her eyes every morning. She has competed in countless races, and continues to do so. She has achieved numerous championships, becoming the Balkan and Turkish champion in her age group. Since her inception, she has been on the podium at the Istanbul Marathon. She has participated in the European Championship. He came 6th in his age group at the Masters World Indoor Track Championships held in Budapest and broke many records.
To summarize: a herniated disc was the common affliction that launched both our father and mother's personal transformation stories. None of us know what positive outcomes our troubles will lead to, so we can all manage not to see our troubles as troubles. At least we're aware from the start that something will happen that will transform our troubles. Why do we choose to worry?
As for us, my sister is a lawyer. She enjoys spending time on her hobbies and does everything with the same discipline. She always surprises us, and it's amazing how much she's improved in other areas of interest, especially in recent years. When she was little, her biggest, even only, dream was to be a lawyer, but life isn't about pursuing a single dream or passion; it's about all four of us. As our dreams diversify and we see our success in different fields, life seems to take on a different dimension. Perhaps it's the same for everyone; we just lack determination when taking steps, or we find it difficult to establish discipline. I see this diversity and discipline in my sister, and I congratulate her.
I manage all of Mer & Dic's operations. I was 25 when I lost my father. I graduated from Izmir Saint Joseph French High School at 18 and Koç University's Business Administration Department at 23. After graduation, I worked as an international sales representative for a private company in four countries: France, Morocco, Finland, and Estonia. I attended countless meetings with my customers, had the opportunity to closely observe the business behaviors of citizens from different countries, and gained valuable experience while conducting various sales in the textile export sector. My first job provided me with experiences I couldn't have gained anywhere else, but losing my father also led to the loss of my passion for the work. I was eager to work for a few more years and apply what I had learned at Mer & Dic, and in 2016, I left the international company I was working for. I would like to thank my first job once again for everything I learned. I have been very proud and happy to have worked for Mer & Dic since 2016. I have other dreams that I wish to realize throughout my life, and I also have my dog Nobel, whom I love very much :) He also uses Mer & Dic cream…
And finally, I'd like to point out that we have customers from almost every corner of Türkiye. Children who grew up with Mer & Dic cream are now teaching their own children about it. I was 4 and my sister was 12 when Mer & Dic cream was introduced. The years fly by like water, and we hope this precious legacy will be passed on to future generations. We're delighted to be carrying on our father's memory with you from generation to generation. We've left 32 years behind.
